Buoux was in the 80's
the centre of universe for the best climbers in the world, and few climbing
areas has such a historic glamour. A reputation built from very good climbers,
but Buoux offers a couple of hundred routes graded 6a to 6c. The climbing
is excellent, and many of the routes has to be regarded as the best Europe
can offer. The gorge is beautiful, and the compact
limestone offers distant pockets and technical climbing.
The summer is to hot, Buoux is best in autumn, spring and during the winter.
