mont blanc, france/italy

Mont Blanc in the heart of the Northern Alps is the highest mountain in Europe. The peak is French. The Italians have the "Monte Bianco di Courmayeur" which is slightly below the principal summit, but they have all the great routes. The whole Mont Blanc massif offers a lot of peaks over 4000 meters, many of them exposed in the coronn.com pictures over the area. The rock climbing is mainly traditional rock climbing, and if you looking for sport climbing you can find it down in the valleys on both sides of this remarkably mountain-chain, on the French side around Chamonix and on the Italian side near Courmayeur (see the map).
