in the Mediterranean Alps this rock climbing crag, Andonno, has tempted
climbers from all over Europe and we understand why; The crag offers 200
sport climbing routes in various grades, is easy to access and the village
Andonno is still a genuine small Italian village almost without tourism
and with a fantastic natural scenery with mountains all around the valley.
The advantage with Andonno is the good crag but also everything that you
can do except for climbing; downhill skiing in Limone, hiking, Biking or
parapending in Valle Infernotto, cross-country in Valle Vermenagana. On
the Stura River you will find canoes and rubber rafts going downstream through
the rapids and calmer stretches of water and the Province has hundreds of
karstic caves that are of considerable scientific value and very interesting
to explore. You will also find Vernante,
with two nice crags and 140 sport climbing routes, only 15 minutes from
Andonno. So you don"t need to get bored in Andonno.
We visit the area the first time in early February and at the crag was warm
and nice with perfect friction. In the afternoon we took the car up to Limone
and had some nice slopes waiting for us. Stay in the coronn.com
apartment in Andonno, only 5 minutes walk from the crag. In the village
you also will find a small food store or 6 km down the road supermarkets.
In the area they produce one of the best red wines and the world"s tastiest
truffles. If you need some culture events, Cuneo, a town 25 kilometers away
can offer you what you are looking for.
