Mountaineering/ski mountaineering,
Monte Rosa
![]()
Monte Rosa is great. Many of the mountain's is above 4000 m and are easy to access, other are difficult and need more experience.
The hard walk, or the ski mountaineering trip, passes over glacier's with crevasses, many heading for the highest hut in Europe, other for one or more of the many 4000+ summits in the area. Monte Rosa is a massif for beginners and advanced mountaineering people.
From Stafal you reach 4-5 summits above 4000 metres in a day, all graded F, PD or PD+, easy to accent and all with a beautiful view over the alp's.
The Massif is beautiful and in nice weather you will have a view over many
of the summits in the Alps, including summits as Mont Blanc, Grandes Jorasses, Dent d'Herens and Matterhorn. Because of the high altitude nights and mornings are cold, even in the summer, and weather can change quickly.
Visitors
in general use some days for the ascent. The first afternoon with the funevia and the glacier climb
from the village Stafal to the hut Griffel. Then early next day start the harder
part to ascend the summit's in the massif or to do the classic glacier ascent to the highest hut in Europe, Regina Margherita.
