The
Norwegians has an rock climbing ethic similar to the English, and you need
gear for many of the routes, however, sport climbing freaks can also find
some areas where almost all the climbing routes are bolted.
Together
with Kolsås (mainly traditional climbing) the areas Bergflødt, Damtjern and Hauktjern (mainly
bolted rock climbing routes) offers excellent rock climbing in beautiful
surroundings. Those climbing crags is also the ones we recommend for the
first time visitor.
Norway
is unfortunately very expensive, so fill up petrol and buy food before you
cross the border. Bring some cash since they don¸t take card in some supermarkets
and you need some coins to pay the road-duty when you cross the city (they
don¸t accept cards).
You
can find many nice places for your tent or for your crash pad in Oslo, often
just by the climbing crag.
During
weekends and during holidays you will meet a lot of climbers by the crag,
mostly Norwegian¸s but because of the university also climbers from all around
the world.
Except
climbing; a lot of nice beaches, and of course, everything that a capital
city like Oslo can offer.
