You will find Kotecnik in the forest above the small village Liboje in the east of Slovenia. Those crags are considered to be one of the best rock climbing area in Slovenia, with excellent quality of limestone rock, varied nature of routes and a wide range of difficulty. Slovenia is a small country, and it will take about two hours from Bled to Kotecnik. The High roads has perfect standard though you have to pay to use them, and watch out for the traffic police, which seems to be very effective in Slovenia.
The best time to climb here is from February to October. For resting days, visit the old town in Celje, taste some beer at Lasko (10 km south of Celje) that has been brewed here since 1825 or visit the picturesque village of Svetina.
