Take the car - save the environment

The best climbing is unfortunately not to be found on your backyard, and therefor you and your friends need a transport for to get to one of these beautiful spots.

But if you care about the nature and do belief that your choices can have an impact on global heating problems you might have been thinking about which is the best choice for the climate – to take the car or to take a flight?

On a journey for one person from London to Nürnberg by air or by car the emission levels of carbon dioxide are the same. Both emit about 0,26 kg carbon dioxide per person if the aircraft is 2/3rds full.
If you fill up your car, the driver and 3 passengers, the impact regarding carbon dioxide is only 25% compared with a flight for the same persons.

In this environment calculation we also need to take into consideration that the aircraft also have impact on the climate through emissions of nitrogen dioxide, steam and vapour trails. The overall combined impact from an aircraft is usually assessed as being twice as much as carbon dioxide.

So, fill up your car or rent a minibus, continue to travel. With four persons in the car you can do the trip London – Nürnberg 8 times before you have contributed with the same impact as if you with friends made only one trip by air.

Extra environment friendly - take a look at some superTRIKE's.
