1.1. The wood - 1 comment - May 23rd, 2009 Let me tell you about the background to the project. I am working as a representative for a swedish company in Italy. Since I hate to sit in a car when the sun is shining, and I don’t like Hotels, I decided to do all the travel by bike and to spend the nights in a tent. Covering North Italy there is a lot of biking, though the only problem has been the small villages that I need to visit high in the mountains. To reach the village Cervinia you start at about 700 metres above see-level and 20 km later you find yourself at 2000 metres! Heavy! Behind my bike I need to bring a trailer since I have 40 kg clothes and outdoor products to show the shops that I am visiting. My plan is to build a bike, with a coachwork in wood and epoxi, the major part of the frame in wood and the construction made for a lot of luggage and a possibility for to sleep in (that way I will save the weight of my tent).
